Remember the good old days in the ’60 when Hertz added the Black with Gold Stripes Shelby GT 350H Mustangs to their fleet?  Even if you were not around during that era, these cars quickly became dubbed with the nickname “Rent-A-Racers”. Their reputation and the associated stories are legendary.

Well, Hertz is back at it again only using the best sports car value in the world today, the Corvette C6.  There will be 500 units produced for use in North America.  (No news yet as to whether they will be in Canada).  The initial distribution will be to the major cities for their airport rental fleets.

The Corvettes will all carry the ZHZ package designation and be painted Hertz Yellow with Black Stripes.  The cars will be built on the standard C6 Coupes with the LS3 430HP engines and all will have the Paddle Shift 6-Speed Automatics installed. They will also be optioned with the NPP Sport Exhaust, F55 Magnetic Selective Suspension, along with special 6 spoke Chrome Wheels.  All this will be capped off with special Hertz Floor Mats, specific badging on the armrest and Hertz badging on the fenders.

Okay enthusiasts, now is the time to book your flights and trips to coincide with the local track Lapping Days….the Hertz “Rent-A-Racer” is back!

I rented this rocket for the weekend…it was the best money spent all year! If you haven’t done the Richard Petty Driving Experience…I encourage you to try the Hertz Bumble Bee experience in its place…and Oh yea…you will definately put a sting on anything else on the road!
